Charna Flam James Gunn told Variety Thursday night that his upcoming DC Studios movie, “Superman: Legacy” hasn’t found its leading man just yet — but the production is considering “some really great choices.” On the red carpet for Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” MCU actors, Pom Klementieff and Will Poulter also teased whether or not they’d join the director for his upcoming DC movie. Gunn explained exactly what he is looking for his Clark Kent. “The next Superman has to be someone who has all the humanity that Superman has but he’s also an alien,” Gunn told Variety’s Marc Malkin. “It’s gotta be somebody who has the kindness and the compassion that Superman has and be somebody who you want to give a hug.” As for whether or not Gunn is recruiting “Guardians” star Chris Pratt for the role, he said. “It’s not Chris Pratt. If he was a few years younger, maybe.” The DC Studios co-head announced in December he was writing the upcoming feature, and in March he was then confirmed as the “Superman: Legacy” director. The film was confirmed in January when Gunn and Safran revealed the first slate of film and television titles for their new DC Universe. The Nevada trial for a "Dances With Wolves" actor accused of sexually abusing indigenous women and girls for more than a decade is on hold indefinitely, a state judge confirmed this week.  Nathan Chasing Horse, 46, who played Smiles a Lot in the 1990 film, has been charged with sexual assault of a minor, kidnapping, lewdness and child abuse along with accusations he runs a cult and takes underage wives.  His trial was expected to start in May, but on Wednesday, Chasing Horse’s public defender Kristy Holston asked for a hold on the proceedings after they asked the state Supreme Court to toss his indictment.  Chasing Horse was arrested in January and was indicted in February. He is charged with 18 felonies.  In March, he pleaded not guilty to the charges.  If his request for a dismissal is denied, a new trial date will be set, Clark County District Judge Carli Kierny said.

A judge upheld an 18-count indictment against "Dances with Wolves" actor Nathan Chasing Horse Friday. In an order issued late Friday afternoon, Clark County District Court Judge Carli Kierny said state prosecutors presented enough evidence for "a reasonable grand juror to conclude that the sexual assaults occurred" but found that there was no substantive testimony connecting Nathan Chasing Horse to the psilocybin mushrooms investigators found while searching his home. So, Kierny tossed the drug trafficking charge.

But those same eyes will not be seeing double if, in the very near future, you end up seeing both those names in close conjunction, a lot. Clark recently completed her fourth album — a self-titled one — for Warner Records, and the just-announced May 19 release is produced by possibly her biggest fan: Carlile. Their occasionally confused monograms are among the least of the things the two have in common, since both have enjoyed years of mutual acclaim among music fans who are partial to top-flight Americana or country sounds, or simply the classic singer-songwriter style. Beyond that, there are even more borderline-spooky commonalities that make it seem like they were both born under a good sign. “We’re both from Washington State; we’re both gay — we have a lot in common,” says Clark, picking out some of the obvious shared bio points. “And then a lot not in common.
