Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has sent a heartwarming message to Cristiano Ronaldo following the tragic death of his newborn son.
Ronaldo missed United’s 4-0 defeat at Anfield on Tuesday night after he and his partner Georgina Rodriguez announced the sad news that their baby son had passed away. Ronaldo and Rodriguez have received countless tributes and messages of support since making the announcement. And there was a special show of solidarity from both sets of supporters on Merseyside during Tuesday’s encounter.
Applause rang out from both sets of fans in the seventh minute in support of Ronaldo and his partner. Home fans also sang their club anthem 'You’ll Never Walk Alone' in tribute.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp described the gesture as his 'moment of the game' as he sent his own message of support to Ronaldo. Alisson also joined him in sending a message to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
"This beautiful gesture from our fans shows that, at these times, rivalry must be put aside," Alisson said, as reported by Globo. "I deeply regret what happened to Cristiano Ronaldo's family and I know that the pain he, his wife and all the loved ones around him are in is very great.
"Any gesture of affection like this helps at this moment. From the bottom of my heart, I wish a lot of peace of mind for him and his entire family."
Ronaldo's family thanked Liverpool’s supporters for their gesture after the game. The Portuguese ace’s sister Elma also shared the footage on social media, adding: “Thank you for this Liverpool. We will never forget what you did today.”
