The duo — Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote — embrace their mother tongue in their music for the first time.It was inspired by a turbulent period in their lives, after Cosials went through a breakup and turned 30 in the same week. “This was the first song I could write after months of feeling absolutely devastated, immobile and pathetic,” she said.
“I just wanted to get better but I just couldn’t, I couldn’t cope with this eternal race of being happier and better and cleaner and healthier.”In an accompanying video, directed by Cosials and Perrote themselves, the duo are seen chaotically engaging in mundane daily tasks, from washing dishes to working out.The track also explores female identity in 2024, as Perrote explained: “When I talk with my girlfriends, in the same afternoon we can chat about wars, philosophy, love and clothes. I tried to reflect on this song the chaos and huge spectrum of what it’s like to be a young woman these days.
How overwhelming it can be to juggle the news, politics, our bodies, relationships and laundry.”The single is the third song to be released from the Spanish indie rockers’ upcoming album ‘VIVA HINDS’, which will be released September 6. It follows their previously released track ‘Coffee’, and ‘Boom Boom Back‘, which featured Beck.
