Lisa Armstrong's loyal supporters have expressed their sympathy and backed the makeup artist after she published a poignant post marking five years since her father's passing. The Strictly make up artist, 47, turned to Instagram to share an image of her father Derek's gravestone.
It bore the inscription: "In loving memory of Dot Armstrong tragically taken on 29.6.1992 and Derek John Armstrong 12.4.1948 - 13.5.2019. Sadly missed husband, dad and grampy. Forever in our hearts."
The heartfelt message accompanying the snap, which was posted earlier this week, read: "My heart.... 5 years #MyDegs #MyHero," and it included several desolate emojis. In response, friends and fans swarmed the comments section with expressions of compassion and support.
Vanessa Feltz penned: "So sorry sweetheart," and another fan offered: "Oh Lise. So sad. He was a lovely man. Sending you my love." Both Lizzie Cundy and Alan Carr shared emotive emojis.
Lisa has recurrently made posts remembering her father throughout the years since his death. These moments include both the anniversary of his demise and significant birthdays, reports the Mirror.
In 2020, she spoke of their bond a year after his passing and said: "I can't believe one year has passed. It still seems so unreal. Not a day goes by that I don't miss you, your smile, your laugh, your encouragement and most of all your love. Will always be Daddy's girl."
Lisa concluded the post almost four years ago by writing in the caption: "My heart broke this day last year. RIP. My Dad. My hero."
