Naman Ramachandran The Edinburgh International Film Festival has tapped Picturehouse Entertainment head of acquisitions Paul Ridd as its new director. Ridd will join in December. His first festival, the event’s 77th anniversary, will take place in August 2024, with specific dates to be announced.

The procedural was introduced as a two-part event during the current fourth season of “The Rookie,” where Officer John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) and the LA division of the FBI enlist the help of Simone when one of her former students is a suspect in a terror attack. Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter are co-creators, co-showrunners and executive producers.

“John Wick” fans should note while “John Wick 5” is on hold until filmmaker Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves can crack a new story (more on that soon), that doesn’t mean “John Wick” the franchise is staying idle.
