Lil Uzi Vert responds to accusations that he plagiarized his “That Way” cover art

The BTS fandom is losing their collective minds today courtesy Jimin and Jungkook. The Bangtan Boys, who have cancelled the Korean leg of Map of the Soul tour and rescheduled the North American leg of the tour, appeared on a new episode of Run BTS. Philly rapper Lil Uzi Vert is famously a big Paramore fan, previously calling lead singer Hayley Williams his biggest songwriting inspiration. In an interview with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, Williams revealed she actually turned down a request from him to collaborate while going through a period of personal turmoil.

A Korean painter and illustrator named TaeTae (태태) has accused Lil Uzi Vert of plagiarizing their artwork for the cover of his hit single, “That Way.” TaeTae pointed out the similarities between their painting and Uzi’s cover art in an Instagram post, while explaining that the photo of their original work was first shared on their blog six years ago.

Just one week after dropping Eternal Atake, Lil Uzi Vert returned with a deluxe edition containing 14 new tracks doubling as the sequel to 2016’s Lil Uzi Vert Vs. The World. The Lil Durk-assisted “No Auto” pays tribute to one of Uzi’s idols, Lil Wayne, by sampling “BM J.R.” from 2004’s Tha Carter.
