Liam Payne's accent causes stir on ITV Soccer Aid - again

Fans tuning in to watch the annual Soccer Aid charity match for UNICEF were eagerly anticipating Liam Payne's pre-match interview. Liam, who is captain of England in the England vs World XI game on ITV, were wondering what his accent would be after his famous chat from the Oscars earler this year.

Liam Payne is captain of this year’s Soccer Aid England time despite the confession that he’s never kicked a football before.The former One Direction star, 28, made the confession during an interview with YouTuber Logan Paul for his channel. He said: “I've been training at the moment in the UK. “We play this game called Soccer Aid and it's a bunch of professional soccer players - like Ronaldinho has played in the past - mixed with celebrities.

Soccer Aid is back on our screens as England go head-to-head with the World XI FC. The UNICEF game is hosted at the London Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford with broadcaster and former footballer Alex Scott returning as pitch-side reporter alongside Dermot O'Leary.

This year’s line-up includes Scotland’s Strongest Man, Tom Stoltman, as well as actor Damian LewisRunning since 2006, Soccer Aid is an annual charity event that has raised over £38 million for UNICEF UK so far, fundraising money via ticket sales and donations from the public. It was first begun by Robbie Williams and involves a charity football match played by celebrity volunteers. This year will mark the 11th charity match, which will focus on the crisis in Ukraine and specifically the 7.

Millions will once again be watching a host of celebrities and famous footballers taking part in the annual Soccer Aid fundraiser. The football match takes place on Saturday night and among those taking part is singer-songwriter Tom Grennan.

There's another newbie taking to the pitch this year as Soccer Aid returns for its 11th run. The charity football match, which airs live on ITV on Sunday, will feature comedian Munya Chawawa.

While Soccer Aid often attracts a flurry of celebrities and actors, it also invites former athletes and footballers.

A star-studded line-up will once again be pulling on their football boots as Soccer Aid returns for 2022. It's just under a year since a bunch of singers, reality stars, and former footballers took to the pitch and raised a record-breaking £13,014,769 for UNICEF.
