LeVar Burton Responds To Meghan McCain On Issue Of ‘Cancel Culture’: ‘I Think We Have A Consequence Culture’

It’s been a mere four months since Trump-backed extremists swarmed the Capitol and tried to hunt down and harm lawmakers in an attempt to overthrow a fairly-won presidential election. The same attack in which Capitol police officers, faced with hundreds of violent and enraged insurrectionists, feared for their lives — and some, lost them. Meghan McCain suggested on The View that it’s now time for the media to focus on something else. The backlash to her comment was immediate.

Mother’s Day was particularly special for Meghan McCain. The View co-host, 36, celebrated the holiday for the very first time after giving birth to daughter Liberty Sage Domenech late last year. Meghan posted a beautiful photo to Instagram on May 9 from the day the now six-month-old was born, showing the newborn resting on Meghan’s chest in their hospital bed.

Liz Cheney‘s potential removal from House leadership on the May 5 episode and ended up shouting as she questioned her own place in the party. “They’re shivving her for refusing to debase herself for Cheeto Jesus,” McCain said. “I don’t know what’s going on.”
