LEGO Star Wars Actively Trying To Reach An Older Audience

So far, the Disney+ world has only really known one live-action “Star Wars” project and that is “The Mandalorian.” But Lucasfilm has quite a few new series in the works, including the upcoming “Book of Boba Fett,” which is scheduled to arrive before the end of the year.

When Lucasfilm fired “The Mandalorian” actress Gina Carano in February of this year, it caused some domino effect problems for their projects in development. Two months earlier, at the big Disney Investors Day, Lucasfilm announced a new “Star Wars” series, “Rangers of The New Republic.” And while it was never officially announced, it seemed clear that Carano’s Cara Dune character would be one of those Rangers.

After the release of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” fans seemed to be a bit polarized about the three Sequel Trilogy films. That’s putting it lightly, sure, but there are still some people out there that enjoy those movies and hope to see Rey, Finn, Poe, and the other new characters in potential new projects.

The next major direction the company seems to be pushing towards is bringing as many of their beloved animated characters into a live-action environment.

Rogue Squadron, the Star Wars film set to be directed by Patty Jenkins, has been taken off Disney’s production schedule for next year.Jenkins (Wonder Woman) and writer Matthew Robinson have reportedly been developing Rogue Squadron over the past year, with hopes of entering production in 2022.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has now taken the film off the 2022 production schedule due to Jenkins’ other commitments.
