LeBron James is calling out Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham for what some see as a double standard when it comes to her response to athletes sharing political opinions. James took to Twitter on Sunday to bring attention to Ingraham's support of recent political remarks by Drew Brees just a few years after she famously told James to «shut up and dribble» when he criticized Donald Trump.

Fox News’ Laura Ingraham was none too pleased Wednesday night as she covered criticism of Saints quarterback Drew Brees on her primetime show. Brees was called out earlier in the day for saying he doesn’t support kneeling in protest during the national anthem because he sees it as disrespectful to the flag.

“WOW MAN!! [facepalm emoji],” tweeted LeBron James, 35, on June 3 while sharing a clip of New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees’s interview with Yahoo! Finance. In the interview, Drew, 41, was asked if the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, and other black men and women killed by the police would trigger another round of Colin Kaepernick-inspired national anthem protests.

LeBron James was among the pro athletes on Wednesday who were shocked by comments made by Drew Brees earlier in the day. The Saints star QB said in an interview with Yahoo News that, even after the killing of George Floyd and worldwide protests which resulted, he was still against any football player kneeling during the national anthem.“I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country," Brees said.

NFL quarterback Drew Brees can add one more fumble to his career total. The New Orleans Saints star is the latest public figure to spark backlash over his comments surrounding his beliefs on the National Anthem and the United States flag.  On Wednesday, Yahoo Finance interviewed Brees and asked him about his stance on the recent nationwide protests in response to George Floyd's death, who was killed by a Minneapolis police officer on Monday, May 25.
