Courtney and her boyfriend Chris Sheng have been protesting in Los Angeles since the video of George Floyd being crushed to death under Officer Derek Chauvin’s knee was released.

Titled “OWN Spotlight: Where Do We Go From Here?,” the town hall will be simulcast on OWN and all of its parent company Discovery’s 18 other networks.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta family peacefully protested together in Los Angeles on June 3, and detailed their experience later on Instagram. 

On June 3, Meghan Markle gave a commencement speech to the graduating class of 2020 at Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles (the same school she graduated from herself). In her address, Meghan discussed the “devastating” state of America right now, following George Floyd’s death. She mentioned George, as well as other black men and women who were shot by white police officers, by name in the speech.

A public Zoom call hosted by the Los Angeles Police Commission that was planned to discuss the protests following George Floyd‘s death turned into nine hours of citizens demanding that the LAPD Chief of Police resign.

Actor Evan Peters was criticized on social media for sharing a tweet that referred to "piece of s--- looters" who were being chased by police. A Twitter user shared a video on Monday of helicopter coverage of the George Floyd protests out of Los Angeles showing the police pursuing a looter on foot. The user injected their own commentary, calling the looter a "son of a b----." "I can watch these piece of s--- looters get tackled all day!!" the person tweeted.

Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore issued a formal apology late Monday night for a comment he made earlier in the day during a press conference covering the protests, looting and curfew in Los Angeles. Moore ignited a firestorm on social media when he said of looters that the death of George Floyd was "on their hands, as much as it is on those [Minneapolis] officers'." The reaction to the comment was swift.

Halsey has been in the middle of the protests in Los Angeles over the past few days, and the singer shared photos and videos on Instagram to let her fans know what she has witnessed. The You Should Be Sad singer has provided first aid to those who have been injured while protesting George Floyd’s death, and she told people who are sitting in “the comfort” of their own home to open their eyes.

What started as a routine, if not urgent, press conference amid protests marred by unrest across Los Angeles has led to a social media outcry and calls for L.A. Police Chief Michael Moore to be fired.
