Kim Murphy The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s “Blade” reboot is beginning to come together. Variety has confirmed that Aaron Pierre has joined the cast of the upcoming Mahershala Ali vehicle.No details regarding Pierre’s character are available at this time, though reports indicate that Marvel Studios engaged in a very deliberate and sweeping casting process to fill the role.Pierre is the third official addition to the “Blade” cast.

Even before the runaway success of “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Sony had been deep in the expansion plans of their live-action Spider-verse. “Morbius” is next coming in April, and after that, in early 2023 will be “Kraven The Hunter,” the latest Marvel film being assembled by Sony Pictures.

The upcoming film “Kraven the Hunter,” starring Aaron Taylor Johnson as the classic Spider-Man villain, has added Fred Hechinger (“The White Lotus,” “Pam & Tommy”) to its cast, Variety has confirmed.It’s currently unknown who Hechinger will play, but Deadline reports that he will portray Chameleon, an evil master of disguise who also happens to be Kraven’s half-brother.J.C.

Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the film, and Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk wrote the screenplay.

Aziz Ansari (Master of None, Parks and Recreation) is making his feature directorial debut with an untitled dramedy for Searchlight, based on the 2014 non-fiction book Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End by surgeon Atul Gawande, in which he’ll star alongside Oscar nominee Bill Murray (The French Dispatch, Lost in Translation), Deadline has confirmed.
