EXCLUSIVE: Krapopolis, the animated Fox comedy that scored a season three renewal ahead of its first season premiere, has a new showrunner.
Alex Rubens has replaced Jordan Young for seasons two and three.
Rubens has worked closely with creator Dan Harmon on a number of projects; he was a writer on Harmon’s Community and he was a writer and co-exec producer on the Harmon-co-created Rick and Morty as well as exec producing series such as The Twilight Zone.
Young served as showrunner on season one, which will launch in the 2023/24 season. Young was brought on to help launch Krapopolis, working under Harmon’s supervision to handle the series’ day-to-day activities. Young will be credited as executive producer on season one.
It comes after Deadline revealed that Krapopolis scored a third-season renewal before a frame of the animated series has been seen by the viewing public.
The series was previously planned to premiere in a four-episode, two-hour block in May.
Krapopolis has had a very long gestation period; Harmon signed a direct deal with the broadcast network in July 2020 with a series commitment. In February 2021, the then-untitled show was handed a formal series order, making it its first fully owned animated series. A special preview of the show, which was handed a second-season renewal in October 2022, was originally set for November 2022 but was delayed with Welcome to Flatch taking its place after an NFL doubleheader.
Then, the series was planned to launch in May alongside shows such as Jon Hamm-voiced Grimsburg and the second season of Housebroken. However, it will now move to next season.

Starring George Lopez opposite his real-life daughter Mayan, the multi-cam comedy follows a working-class old-school Latino (George) who moves in with his Gen Z daughter (Mayan) as they rebuild their dysfunctional relationship one argument at a time. Along with the Lopezes, stars include Matt Shively as Mayan’s live-in boyfriend Quinten Van Bryan, Brice Gonzalez as their son Chance Lopez-Van Bryan, Selenis Leyva as Mayan’s mother and Geroge’s ex Rosie and Al Madrigal as George’s employee Oscar. The series frequently features guest roles played by prominent Latino actors such as Constance Marie, Rita Moreno, Justina Machado, Marilyn Milian, Danny Trejo and Melissa Fumero.
“Heels” returns for season two on Friday, July 28 at midnight (ET) on the Starz app. Starring Stephen Amell (“Arrow”) and Alexander Ludwig (“Vikings”), the small-town drama series based on a wrestling league in rural Georgia will also debut on linear on Starz at 10:00 PM ET/PT in the US and Canada on Friday, July 28.

However, the show will be moving to ABC for its seventh season, Variety has confirmed. In addition, the sister series “9-1-1: Lone Star” has been renewed for Season 5 at Fox. “It has been an honor to be the founding network of ‘9-1-1’ and we are grateful to Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, together with Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Ryan Guzman and the rest of the cast and crew, and 20th Television for delivering such an impactful series to Fox,” the network said in a statement. “We wish them well after ‘9-1-1’s’ final Fox season concludes.”
Fox has renewed 9-1-1: Lone Star, starring Rob Lowe, for a fifth season. It will be the only 9-1-1 series on the network next season as flagship 9-1-1 is not being renewed. (It is expected to move to ABC.)

The announcement was made ahead of Amazon’s NewFront presentation in New York on May 1. The first season of “Bosch: Legacy” debuted on Freevee in May 2022, with Season 2 set to air this fall. Like its predecessor, the Prime Video series “Bosch,” the Freevee series is based on the Bosch novels written by Michael Connelly. “The story of Harry Bosch has evolved over the years, and his journey is far from over,” said LaurenAnderson, head of AVOD Originals, unscripted, and targeted programming at Amazon Studios. “Thisrenewal of ‘Bosch: Legacy’ is a testament to the enduring power of the world Michael Connelly built. Harry Bosch will continue to crack cases for the foreseeable future. Ahead of the Season 2 premiere this fall, Bosch: Legacy, the spinoff of the longrunning Amazon crime series, has been renewed for a third season. Amazon Freevee announced the renewal Monday, prior to the Amazon NewFront presentation.

The news comes as the two stars recently wrapped filming on the new episodes, which continues to follow the interconnected lives and personalities that make up the titular a.m. talk show's team at a TV network struggling to modernize with the times. Season 3, which is directed by Mimi Leder and led by showrunner Charlotte Stoudt, features several new additions to the sprawling ensemble cast, including Jon Hamm and Nicole Beharie as well as Tig Notaro, Stephen Fry and Natalie Morales in recurring roles. The upcoming season also sees the return of season 2 newcomers Julianna Margulies and Greta Lee, who will appear alongside Emmy-winner Billy Crudup, Karen Pittman and others. While plot details are still under wraps, Witherspoon has dropped a few hints about season 3, teasing to ET that «it's really juicy and good» and that «there is lots of romance this year.» Not only that, but when it comes to all the new additions to the cast, she said they all «have just upped the game.» season 3 debuts in the fall on Apple TV+.

William Earl One of Apple TV+’s biggest shows has been renewed early. “The Morning Show,” the newsroom drama starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, has received an early renewal for Season 4 on the streamer. Meanwhile, Season 3 is set to debut this fall. Witherspoon and Aniston are executive producers, with Mimi Leder directing and executive producing, and Charlotte Stoudt acting as showrunner and executive producer for Season 3. “The Morning Show” is produced by the Media Res, Hello Sunshine and Echo Films. Season 3 will introduce new cast members Jon Hamm and Nicole Beharie, as well as the return of stars such as Julianna Margulies, Tig Notaro, Stephen Fry and Natalie Morales.
