Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler channel Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers in a new teaser video ahead of their Broadway debut in Romeo+Juliet.
The 20-year-old Heartstopper actor and the 23-year-old Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes actress will take the stage playing the titular characters in a production of the iconic play, which features original music from Jack Antonoff.
On Wednesday (May 22), we got a first glimpse at them getting into character and a taste of the music that Jack has created for the project in a brief video teaser.

The clip implies that we’ll be getting a decidedly modern take on the timeless play.
Here’s the official tagline: “The youth are f-cked. Left to their own devices in their parents’ world of violent ends, an impulsive pair of star-crossed lovers hurtle towards their inescapable fate. The intoxicating high of passion quickly descends into a brutal chaos that can only end one way.”
