Kesha is all smiles as she arrives for her headlining performance at Pride Live’s Stonewall Day 2022, which was held outside New York City’s Stonewall Inn on Friday (June 24).
The 35-year-old “We R Who We R” singer hit the stage in a black bodysuit with sheer paneling, layering a leather bodysuit held together by chains over top. She completed the look with a colorful leather fringe coat.
During her set, Kesha took time to celebrate her LGBTQ+ fans and reflect on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
“I’m so honored, I’m so excited, I’m so humbled to be here celebrating Pride. This ground is historic,” she said per People, adding: “I also have to say, with the Supreme Court ruling, overturning Roe v. Wade today, I don’t want to bring down the mood, but it’s important that we understand that we are a family.”
Kesha continued, “Look around. These are our brothers and our f—ing sisters. We need each other. We are not alone in this, and we need you now more than ever. We all need to stick together, and we really need to remember that this s— was punk,” the Grammy-nominated musician added. “This was not easy. This is not going to be easy, and we are not done fighting. But today we’re here to celebrate who the f— we are. We are who we are!”
She joins a number of celebrities who have spoken out against the Supreme Court’s decision. See more reactions here.
