Kentucky Supreme Court traveling to Shelbyville to hear oral questions

The FBI on Monday returned to the Kentucky property where missing mom Crystal Rogers was last seen in 2015, as the agency pursues any additional tips regarding the young woman’s disappearance.  Agents from the FBI’s Louisville Field Office traveled to 345 Paschal Ballard Lane in Bardstown, Kentucky early Monday morning to conduct "judicially authorized activity" related to Rogers’ July 2015 disappearance, the bureau announced on Twitter.  Rogers was 35-years-old when she was last seen on July 3, 2015, at the Paschal Ballard Lane address where a farm owned by the family of Roger’s boyfriend at the time, Brooks Houck, is located, local news station WDRB.com reported. Houck was the father of one of Rogers’ children and was allegedly the last person to have seen the woman before she disappeared.

The death toll from historic flooding that swamped portions of eastern Kentucky this summer has risen to 43, Gov. Andy Beshear said Thursday in announcing two additional fatalities. The latest two deaths were caused by "health conditions directly arising from the flooding," the governor said at his weekly news conference.

Buckingham (“Finding Love in San Antonio”) and helmed by Jeff Day (“Midway Love”), the romantic drama centers on Esperanza (Carmine), a successful lawyer whose dream life is showing some cracks. Her mother suggests she visit their hometown of Sisters, Oregon to get recharged but she chooses to stay at her job. When Esperanza’s mother dies, she returns home, although she is wary of reuniting with her two sisters, Caridad (Dávila) and Faith (Valentina Izarra), after so many years apart.

A weekly eastern Kentucky newspaper is trying to do its part to keep the upcoming general election legal and fair. The Salyersville Independent newspaper included an ad recently that offers up a $3,000 cash reward for credible and concrete evidence of vote buying in the Nov.

New Orleans-based singer Maggie Koerner will play Billie Carton, starring opposite Nashville-based music artist Sam Varga in the role of Lucky Fontana. “With this amazing cast of real-life Americana music artists, we are on an exciting creative journey that will seem both familiar and completely unsettling to the millions of people around the world who watch reality TV music competitions,” said director and co-writer Ate de Jong. The cast of “Americana Dream” also includes singer-songwriter Stephan Said as Ray Pursell, jazz vocalist Carly Johnson as Precious Blue, AJ Haynes as Lee Post and Michelle Malentina as Gabe. For the first time ever, the entire New Testament of the Bible will be spoken aloud word for word, by memory, on stage.  Tom Meyer, a professor of Bible studies from northern Kentucky, had the idea of bringing people together to recite God’s word — without a script.  With help from the ICR Discovery Center for Earth and Science, a museum in Dallas, Texas, Meyer is hosting an event for the entire community to see, in person and via live stream, beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, as the New Testament is spoken aloud fully and completely from memory.

Abortions in both Arizona and Ohio are legal once again after two separate rulings in court on Friday. At the Arizona Court of Appeals, a three-judge panel sided with Planned Parenthood on Friday, which argued that Pima County Court Superior Court Judge Kellie Johnson shouldn't have lifted an injunction that prevented a pre-statehood law that bans abortions in all circumstances, except if the mother's life is in danger.

A body found on the bank of an eastern Kentucky creek has been identified as a missing flood victim, a coroner said. Nancy Cundiff, 29, was one of two people still missing after historic flooding in July killed dozens and left hundreds without homes.

A Kentucky couple has been arrested after authorities discovered human remains inside a tote bag in a storage locker while searching for a missing girl. Cheyanne Porter, 27, and Jose Gomez-Alvarez, 31, were each charged with tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse, the Daviess County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday in a news release. Deputies learned of the missing girl from a caller who reported that they had not seen one of the children who was in the care of Porter and Gomez-Alvarez for some time.  "The caller stated that [Porter and Gomez-Alvarez] had different excuses as to why this child was never with the other children and believed something may have happened to the child," the sheriff’s office said.
