2022 BET Hip Hop Awards are coming! On Tuesday, the network announced the nominees for the 17th annual show celebrating the past year in hip hop music. GRAMMY-nominated recording artist Fat Joe takes the hosting reins this year, taping the show from the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday, Sept. 30, before the show's premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 4.This year, Drake leads the pack with an impressive 14 nominations, including Best Live Performer, Lyricist of the Year, Hip Hop Album of the Year, Hip Hop Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. Kanye West is close behind with 10 nominations, including Producer of the Year, Hustler of the Year and Best Hip Hop Video.

Emmy-winning producer Dionne Harmon has been promoted to President at Jesse Collins Entertainment from her previous role as EVP Content and Strategy at JCE. In the newly created position, Harmon will oversee all aspects of the company’s creative strategy and financial growth. She will report to Collins.

Adele has shared her reaction after winning a Creative Arts Emmy Award over the weekend for her recent One Night Only show.The US TV concert special aired last November, and saw the star perform tracks from her album ’30’ at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles while also being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey.It won five awards, including Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), meaning Adele is now one step closer to EGOT status – more specifically a small handful of people who have won the four major Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards. Kendrick Lamar has released the previously theatre-exclusive short film that accompanies ‘We Cry Together’, his collaborative track with actress Taylour Paige from ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ – making it available to view online nearly two-and-a-half years after it was shot.The film was directed by Lamar himself alongside Jake Schreier and Dave Free, with Adam Newport-Berra serving as its cinematographer.

Jem Aswad Senior Music Editor It’s safe to say that the most talked-about and conversation-stopping song on Kendrick Lamar’s brilliant and challenging new album “Mr. Morale & the High Steppers” is “We Cry Together,” a horrifyingly realistic depiction of an argument in an abusive relationship that finds Lamar and actress Taylour Paige saying absolutely horrible things to each other, with her delivering an entire verse while sobbing, and culminates with the two of them having sex. (Trigger warning: the uncensored video features nudity, graphic language and situations.) On Thursday, Lamar dropped a short film, in both censored and uncensored versions, for the song that stars himself and Paige, and it brings the song to life in a way that’s essentially exactly what you would expect: The two of them arguing in a small apartment, with Paige on her way to work and Lamar in a menial-job shirt — with “Dante S.” on the name tag, possibly a reference to the character of that name in Lamar’s 2012 song “Collect Calls” — and backward baseball cap bearing the combined logos of the Los Angeles Dodgers and his own company, pgLang.

The «Scoop» rapper paired his chiseled abs with sleek leather pants that were accented with black feathers. The real star of the show was Nas' head piece that extended inches around his head.

Thania Garcia Eminem and Snoop Dogg will be returning to the VMAs stage for a “first of its kind” performance of “From the D 2 The LBC,” inspired by “the world of the Otherside metaverse” for Sunday’s 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. In partnership with Yuga Labs, their joint appearance marks the first VMA performance by either rapper in more than a decade. Snoop’s last VMAs showcase was in 2005 alongside Diddy for a tribute dedicated to the Notorious B.I.G. Eminem opened the show in 2010, with a performance of “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie,” accompanied by Rihanna. The duo graced the VMAs stage together in 1999, along with Dr. Dre, as the ceremony closed with Eminem’s “My Name Is” and “Guilty Conscience” and Dre’s “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang.”

Kendrick Lamar has discussed coping with fame and staying off social media in a rare new interview.The rapper, who is currently on a world tour behind his new album ‘Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers’, has spoken to Citizen Magazine for a new cover feature.In a snippet of the full interview, which will be released soon, Lamar discussed why he doesn’t feel natural with being a famous person, and needs to take big chunks of time out of the spotlight between albums and tours.“I’m so invested in who I am outside of being famous, sometimes that’s all I know,” he said. “I’ve always been a person that really didn’t dive too headfirst into wanting and needing attention.

“Are you alive right now?” Kendrick Lamar’s question boomed through TD Garden not long after he took the stage. Aside from repeating the questions a few times to feed off the crowd’s rapturous energy and thanking Boston for welcoming him back, Kendrick didn’t have much to say in-between songs.
