Kelly Osbourne has opened up about a hurtful experience she had as a young star, where an executive told her she was "too fat for TV".
The 39 year old daughter of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne shared the shocking story on the latest episode of The Osbourne's Podcast. "It was the most insulting f***ing thing," she revealed to her listeners.
"When I was a kid, I got pulled into the head of the agency's office and he was putting golf balls into a cup and gave me a whole speech about how I was too fat for TV and I needed to lose weight, and that if I lost weight, I would look better." The singer also shared how she was lectured about needing to lose weight in order to be successful. Kelly didn't name the executive involved but did mention that this incident happened around the time she was cast in the Disney remake of Freaky Friday with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis in 2003, reports The Mirror.
"I was gonna play her best friend, and then it was right before Mom got diagnosed with cancer, so I quit," she explained. "And he was just saying, 'You're not a movie star, but you could be one if you lost weight.'".
