Following her impressive three stone weight loss, singer Kelly Clarkson has addressed speculation she used Ozempic. The star's dramatic transformation raised questions among fans about whether she used medication to shed the pounds.
Clarkson, who gained celebrity status after winning American Idol in 2002, recently attracted attention for her slimmed down figure. Fans speculated if she used semaglutide injections such as Ozempic to lose weight.
Ozempic is a prescription drug used to manage type 2 diabetes and obesity in adult patients, alongside improved diet and regular exercise. The medicine works by lowering blood glucose levels as it promotes insulin production by the pancreas.
A side effect of Ozempic can be weight loss, with users often experiencing an average reduction of around 15 per cent of their body weight. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), however, clarified that while Ozempic isn't designed for weight loss, "it is commonly used off-label for that purpose".
In response to these rumours, the famed television presenter and vocalist denied using Ozempic but admitted to using another form of medication to aid her weight loss, as reported by Wales Online.
During a chat with actress Whoopi Goldberg on her show on Monday (May 13), the mother-of-two revealed she was prescribed a 'weight loss' medication following a blood test. Although she did not disclose the exact drug she used, she did deny using Ozempic.
