The “Teenage Dream” singer wanted to add “extra drama” when she suggested to 25-year-old Nutsa Buzaladze — who already had a rocky relationship with the judges — that she had failed to make the top 24 with her fiery, J.Lo-esque rendition of Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary.” “We have really appreciated you being in this competition — and we did not put you in the Top 24,” said Perry as Buzaladze visibly squirmed and teared up.“It’s ok,” said an emotional Buzaladze, who appeared unsure of what to do next. “YOU put yourself in that top 24,” Perry then declared.
