Kate Middleton showed off her parenting skills with youngest son Prince Louis during the Queen's official birthday flypast on the balcony of Buckingham Palace today, as the little boy kept sucking his thumb. It was the four year old Royal's first official event at Trooping the Colour alongside his brother Prince George, eight, and sister Princess Charlotte, six, but Louis hasn't quite mastered the royal etiquette yet.
As well as sharing a hilarious moment with Charlotte on the carriage ride to the parade, Louis seemed to be understandably distracted by the amazing events going on around him. Appearing with the rest of the working royals alongside Her Majesty the Queen on the balcony, Louis struggled to focus and started fiddling and sucking his thumb.
Monitoring the situation carefully, the Duchess of Cambridge wasted no time in telling her son to stop messing around, but as he walked in front of his great-grandmother, the 96 year old monarch, Louis started listening to her instead. At first, Kate, 40, tried gently to get Louis to focus, but when he returned to fidget once more, and even appeared to mouth "I'm bored" as the Royals waited for the military aircraft, she leaned over to give him a gentle word of warning. Finishing with a sweet gesture that saw the Duchess smoothing over her son's hair, the mum-of-three then praised him: "Good boy."
