Kate Middleton's uncle Gary Goldsmith has issued an 'urgent' apology following the bad timing of a tell-all interview which hit news stands today - after the Princess revealed her heartbreaking cancer diagnosis.
Gary, who was a contestant on this year's Celebrity Big Brother and was the first person to be evicted, carried out an interview for Saturday's Times Magazine, titled "Gary Goldsmith: Camilla, Kate, William and me."
He spoke about Kate's whereabouts, the state of her marriage to Prince William, and even the failure of her family's business. This comes the morning after the Princess candidly spoke about her cancer diagnosis for the first time, in an emotional video message to the nation.
Gary took to social media on Friday evening to issue an apology, explaining his actions to fans. He said: "As many will have seen, I am featured in Saturday's "Times Magazine". This interview and shoot was done over a week ago and went to print before I was aware of the sad news regarding my niece Kate. My thoughts and prayers are with Kate and the wider family at this difficult time and deeply upset at the timing of this article. I hope this draws a line over the continued speculation and horrible conspiracies. Let’s give Kate, William & the children time and show some love back."
One of his followers replied: "I think you need to read the room," adding, "It’s probably best to just stay quiet and dignified."
