So they brought back a souvenir for the show: The actual just-crowned King and Queen. King Charles III and Queen Camilla were surprise guests on “American Idol,” in a pre-taped package introduced at the start of the show by host Ryan Seacrest. The clip opens with Richie and Perry, in a room that appears to be inside Windsor Castle. Suddenly, in walks the King and Queen. “I just wanted to check, how much, how long you’ll be using this room for?” King Charles quipped to Richie. Charles then thanked Richie for attending and performing at the coronation. “Thank you so much for your brilliant performance and it was great,” he said.

Time to celebrate! Following King Charles III’s royal crowning on Saturday, May 6, the royal family gathered to commemorate the occasion at the official Coronation Big Lunch one day later.

Coronation celebrations are continuing in Scotland the day after King Charles III was officially crowned. Following the historic event on Saturday, a ceremony and parade will be held in Glasgow today as scores of other community celebrations are held across the country.

For the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, Kate chose to give a subtle nod to Diana’s memory by wearing a pair of her earrings for the occasion.The Princess of Wales wore a set of Diana’s pearl and diamond earrings throughout the procession and ceremony and has been spotted in them on several occasions before, with them being one of Diana’s favourite pairs.The earrings were a gift to Princess Diana from Collingwood before she became Princess of Wales, with the jewellery firm being a favourite of the Spencer family, and were given to her ahead of her wedding to Prince Charles in 1981.They feature a round diamond stud, with a second round diamond danging from it and bell cap set containing a pearl drop and three additional rows of smaller diamonds.

King Charles and the Royal Family gathered on Buckingham Palace balcony to watch a flypast and wave to the crowds of adoring fans. The new King was joined by Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton and other senior members of The Firm for the iconic moment - which is sure to be replayed for years to come.The family took in the moment on the balcony together, waving to the crowds and smiling as they enjoyed the historic event.They also looked to the rainy skies above as the red arrows flew over releasing red, white and blue smoke in honour of our King and Queen.

King Charles is surprising his people on the eve of his Coronation!

King Charles, Prince William and other members of the royal family have arrived at Buckingham Palace for today’s festivities following another dress rehearsal at Westminster Abbey.Tomorrow, May 6, marks the King’s Coronation, but prior to the highly anticipated event, the monarch is holding a Realm Governors General and Prime Ministers Lunch.The prime ministers of Australia and New Zealand, the King of the Ashantis, and Canadian and Amazonian indigenous leaders at Buckingham Palace are believed to be in attendance. Before heading to the Palace, the heads of government visited UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at Downing Street.

King Charles will undoubtedly be the star of the show during the up-coming Coronation - though other senior royals are expected to stand out too. Queen Consort Camilla will also be officially crowned at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6 May - though Buckingham Palace has said that part of the ceremony will be relatively simple compared to that of her husband.

King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla have personally chosen a “Coronation Quiche” recipe that includes an ingredient loved by A-list celebs - edamame beans. The Royal Family’s official Twitter account has shared the recipe for the open baked savoury tart that can be made for the Big Lunches set to be held to mark the King and Queen Consort's crowning. It features cheddar cheese, spinach, tarragon and either broad or soya beans - also known as edamame.
