Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway became overwhelmed with emotion as she met a nurse who cared for author Michael Rosen during his Covid battle - and then learned that she had also cared for her husband Derek, whose battle with the disease is still ongoing. As the realisation hit home, Kate, 54, who married Derek in 2005, felt urged to share a hug with Beth Dixon, and leapt up to do so after being reassured it was fine to by co-host Richard Bacon. Knowing that Derek had been on the same ward as the acclaimed children’s writer, known for books like We’re Going On A Bear Hunt, Kate said: “I have to ask you on a personal note, because you cared for Michael, and Derek, we’ve now found out, was two beds away.
