Kate Garraway has shared a poignant message on her wedding anniversary after sharing a worrying update on her husband Derek Draper. The Good Morning Britain host had taken to social media to inform her fans and followers of her latest interview and cover shoot with The Sunday Times Magazine.
The 56-year-old looks gorgeous in the photos as she spoke about the deeply personal parts of her life caring for her husband over the past three years after coronavirus left him with serious health complications. Kate previously said the virus 'wreaked havoc' on her husband's body.
Former Labour lobbyist Derek was admitted to a hospital with Covid in March 2020 where he was soon placed into an induced coma. He spent just over a year in hospital and has needed round-the-clock care ever since he returned home in April 2021.

While he's made some progress since coming out of his coma, he can still only say the occasional few words and is struggling with renal failure and infected wounds. Another of Derek's struggles comes from his lungs. He can't breathe in oxygen nor breathe out carbon dioxide efficiently, meaning his body is "slightly poisoned all the time".
Kate shared in her new interview how Derek now urgently needs rehab to help him breathe properly again, and has detailed a recent scary incident. She told the Sunday Times he has developed a "weird choking" condition that's baffling doctors. "It happened again just last weekend," she said.
