Reader, would you believe us if we told you that it's over 13 years since Iyaz topped the Official Singles Chart with his breakout single Replay?
Yep, thirteen.
Well - true to the song's lyrics - it literally hasn't left our psyche since. Doing the dishes? "Na, na, na, na everyday..." Just about to nod off for a night of blissful sleep? "It's like my iPod's stuck on reply..."
And the track's about to get a whole new lease of life thanks to Papua New Guinean star Justin Wellington.
Fresh of the back of Iko Iko (My Bestie), the viral TikTok track which saw him team up with Small Jam, Justin returns with his twist on this 2010 Iyaz classic; and it's huge.
Perfectly mixing that early '10s nostalgia with his inimitable blend of pop, reggae and dancehall, Justin explains he's always wanted to release his own spin on the song.
Speaking to OfficialCharts.com, Justin says: "I spent so many years doing all kinds of gigs; I used to do heaps of cover gigs. Replay was always a regular song on my gig list. I loved the song immediately when it came out; I already had a connection with the song."
On bringing the song to a whole new audience, Justin says: "Absolutely. The arrangement's so different to the original, and it brings this real new energy with it.
"Also, another thing I love about it, is that it's short and sweet. I love that it's this musical experience that's compact and takes you on a ride. It makes you feel good, that's what it's all about!"
Prepare to have this one in your head for the next 13 years...
Replay is released Friday March 3 via Sony Music.
