McKinley Franklin editor Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell showed up at CinemaCon this week in Las Vegas to promote their upcoming romantic comedy, “Anyone But You.”  The project was announced in January 2023, with production taking place in Australia. Paparazzi photos from the set sent the internet into a tizzy, with fans speculating about Sweeney and Powell’s on-screen chemistry. Sweeney and Powell unveiled first footage from the project at CinemaCon, dishing out details about the much-anticipated film in a series of interviews and on stage. Universal’s CinemaCon presentation Wednesday night included an extended look at DreamWorks Animation’s “Trolls Band Together,” due in theaters Nov. 17. The plot, concerning Branch’s estranged brother coming into Branch and Poppy’s lives, isn’t that different from “Despicable Me 3.” That said, nobody goes to a “Trolls” movie for the plot.

Thania Garcia Jack Harlow’s new album “Jackman,” the follow-up to 2022’s “Come Home the Kids Miss You,” will be arriving on April 28 via Generation Now and Atlantic Records. On Wednesday morning, the album’s release date and name were revealed alongside the album art which sees a shirtless Harlow standing stoic in a residential alleyway. At the time of this article’s publication, no additional information on “Jackman” (Harlow’s first name), the track list, or features was made available. His last set was a star-studded affair with guest verses from Pharrell Williams, Drake, Lil Wayne and Justin Timberlake. The Grammy-nominated rapper and Variety Hitmakers cover star Jack Harlow is also set to make his acting debut in “White Men Can’t Jump,” streaming on Hulu on May 19. The film is a remake of the 1992 sports comedy that stars Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes. Harlow will appear in the new Calmatic-directed alongside Sinqua Walls, with the script by “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris and Doug Hall.

After the multibillionaire tech baron made good on his threat to yank Twitter blue check-marks from celebrities who weren’t paying him $8 per month last week, the social network has reinstated the badge for many — including on accounts of people who have died. The Musk-owned social network on April 20 revoked verified blue check-mark status from thousands of accounts belonging to celebrities, athletes, politicians and other “notable” figures granted under the company’s previous ownership. The hope was that taking away the “free” Twitter blue check-mark would boost revenue from subscriptions to Twitter Blue, while Musk has also framed it as democratizing the user-verification process.

Now a blue check-mark badge on Twitter primarily signifies that it’s an account belonging to someone who’s paying Musk, one of the world’s wealthiest individuals, for the perk. On April 20, as Musk had announced, Twitter started un-checking thousands of “legacy” verified accounts — those which the company had previously deemed to be “active, notable and authentic” — unless those users were subscribers to Twitter Blue, which starts at $8 per month.

Timbaland has confirmed that his longtime collaborator Justin Timberlake has finished his next album.The two have been collaborating since the late ’90s, across all of the singer’s solo albums. Now in a recent interview with Variety, the Grammy Award-winning producer revealed that he has been helping Timberlake with his next record.“We just finished up and everything sounds great,” said Timbaland.
