Tegan and Sara have returned with a new single called ‘Fucking Up What Matters’ – you can listen to it below.The track marks the first material from the Canadian duo since they signed to the New York indie label Mom+Pop Music, which is also home to the likes of Courtney Barnett, Sleater-Kinney and Lucius.Produced by John Congleton (Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen, Future Islands), ‘Fucking Up What Matters’ serves as a taste of Tegan and Sara’s 10th studio album, the follow-up to 2019’s ‘Hey, I’m Just Like You’.“‘Fucking Up What Matters’ felt like an ode to the moment in your life when you realise that you have most, if not all of the things you wanted and you start to think about what would happen if you just walked away from it all,” explained Tegan Quin.“It’s the moment in the middle of the night when you start to daydream about something else, something you never imagined.”She continued: “It’s the feeling you have when you think you might have hit a new low, and yet you’ve never felt so good. Sometimes it’s admitting that you can’t stop yourself from fucking up what matters, that you feel your strongest.“And as my mom would say, it’s often when we’re fucking up what matters, that we’re learning the most about ourselves.”Tegan and Sara signed to Sire/Warner ahead of releasing their fifth record, 2007’s ‘The Con’.

John Lennon's son Julian sang a cover of his late father's song "Imagine" at a fundraiser for Ukraine. The performance marked the first time that Julian has sung his father's song. Lennon was shot and killed in 1980 at the age of 40.

Julian Lennon, son of John Lennon, has performed ‘Imagine’ for the first time to help raise money for Ukraine.He performed an acoustic rendition of the song in a room surrounded by candles. Sharing the clip of the performance on YouTube, he wrote: “Today, for the first time ever, I publicly performed my Dad’s song, ‘Imagine’.“The song reflects the light at the end of the tunnel, that we are all hoping for.”The cover was done as part Stand Up For Ukraine campaign, a global fund-raising effort broadcast from Warsaw, Poland.Watch the moment here:“I had always said, that the only time I would ever consider singing ‘Imagine’ would be if it was the ‘End of the World’,” Lennon wrote about the performance.But “the War on Ukraine is an unimaginable tragedy,” he continued.

Maggie Rogers has shared new track ‘That’s Where I Am’ – listen below.The song is the lead single from her upcoming new album ‘Surrender’, which she shared details of last month.In ‘That’s Where I Am’, the singer-songwriter speaks of a love interest who started out as a friend. As she declares her commitment to this love, the buoyant track builds in its backdrop, with handclapped rhythms and deep synths.Rogers sings in the chorus : “It all works out in the end / Wherever you go / That’s where I am / Boulders turn into sand / Wherever you go / That’s where I am.”The video for the track, which is due to be released later today (April 8), was filmed in New York and includes some cameos from famous faces.The 12-track album ‘Surrender’, meanwhile, will arrive on July 29 via Polydor and fans can pre-order the album here.The record, which was co-produced by Kid Harpoon and Rogers, is the follow-up to, ‘Heard It In A Past Life‘, which was released in 2019.
