Jose Mourinho has joked Manchester United could win the Premier League title if Manchester City are found guilty of breaching Financial Fair Play [FFP] regulations.
City have denied any wrongdoing in relation to the 115 alleged breaches of financial regulations they were informed of in February last year. If found guilty, the club is in danger of being strictly punished, with the prospect of relegation from the Premier League yet to be dismissed.
City have, by and large, been the dominant force in the Premier League over the past decade, winning the title six times since United last clasped their hands around the trophy in 2012/13. Pep Guardiola's side are chasing a fourth successive crown this season.

United, though, have plans to bridge the gap on their rivals following the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is attempting to make sweeping changes to make the club more competitive on and off the field. However, Mourinho, jokingly, has suggested a points deduction in the blue half of Manchester may boost United's hopes of reclaiming residency on the top step of the podium.
Mourinho, speaking on FIVE, said: "Maybe there is a chance that we win that league, no? Because if Man City is caught in Financial Fair Play breaking the rules, maybe they will lose a few points and we will win that title.
"Joking apart, we did the best that we could do."
