Jonathan Groff is heading to Doctor Who.
The 38-year-old Knock at the Cabin and Frozen star is set to join the cast of the beloved series in the forthcoming new season, which will see David Tennant return as the Doctor before handing over the role to Ncuti Gatwa from Sex Education.

Variety confirmed the casting news, though little is known about the role the actor will play in the series.
“He’s on his way to jump aboard the Tardis in a mysterious and exciting guest role,” a statement from BBC hinted.
The new season of Doctor Who is set to premiere in November 2023. A teaser from the show that was released earlier this year highlighted returning stars David and Catherine Tate‘s roles.

Meanwhile, Jonathan, who is fresh off the red carpet at the 2023 Met Gala, sparked headlines after he was spotted out with an ex.
