John Mercurio And Greg Saphier To Co-Lead MPA Communications And Public Affairs

John Mercurio and Greg Saphier will co-lead the Motion Picture Association‘s communications and public affairs division as part of a new organizational structure.
Mercurio, senior vice president and head of corporate communications, and Saphier, senior vice president and head of public affairs, will report to MPA Chairman and CEO Charles Rivkin.
They will lead the division after the departure earlier this year of Emily Lenzner, who was executive vice president, global communications and public affairs.
Rivkin announced the new structure in a memo to employees today. The memo is below:
Dear MPA Colleagues,
I am delighted to announce a new organizational and leadership structure for our Communications & Public Affairs division. This function plays a pivotal role at the MPA, shaping our public policy and content protection priorities, enhancing our brand equity, and elevating our corporate profile. It is at the heart of everything we do, serving both our internal teams as well as our member companies and other external stakeholders in government and industry.
To that end, effective immediately, John Mercurio and Greg Saphier will co-lead our Communications & Public Affairs division. John is Senior Vice President, Head of Corporate Communications and Greg Saphier is Senior Vice President, Head of Public Affairs. They will both report directly to me.
John has built strong and productive relationships across the MPA, our member companies and the media. From the coordinated global rollout of Larissa Knapp’s appointment to the global expansion of the annual MPA Awards, he leads on a wide array of communications initiatives with skill, collegiality, and effective management.
