Joe Otterson TV ReporterSophie Turner has joined the cast of the HBO Max series “The Staircase.”Turner joins previously announced cast members Colin Firth, Toni Collette, Parker Posey, Juliette Binoche, and Rosemarie DeWitt.The eight-episode series is based on the docuseries of the same name as well as various books and reports about the case of Michael Peterson (Firth), who was accused of murdering his wife, Kathleen (Collette), in 2001.

Nat Wolff will play Travis Maldonado, Joe’s other husband. Both were featured on Netflix’s hit “Tiger King” docuseries last year and in the Wondery podcast that serves as the basis for the Peacock scripted adaptation.Based on the Wondery podcast “Joe Exotic,” hosted and reported by Robert Moor, the limited series will center on Carole Baskin, a big cat enthusiast, who learns that fellow exotic animal lover Joe “Exotic” Schreibvogel is breeding and using his big cats for profit.

Finlay joins previously announced series leads Kate McKinnon, who will play Carole Baskin, and John Cameron Mitchell, who will play Joe Exotic.
