Jessie J has spoken about leaving her baby son for the first time as she gets ready to jet off on a work trip, revealing she's "dreading" leaving him. The singer, 35, welcomed baby son Sky back in May with basketball player Chanan Safir Colman and she's been inseparable from him ever since.
The mum-of-one is now gearing up to head to Korea for four days for work - marking the longest time she's spent away from Sky since his birth. Jessie took to Instagram to seek "support and reassurance" from her fans, as the thought of leaving Sky was leaving her tearful, having only been apart from him for one night previously.
"I have had one night away form Sky since he was born. I have to leave for work for Korea for 4 days and I am legit dreading leaving him. Any advice or tips on making it feel less S***?" she wrote on her Stories with a crying emoji.
Jessie then explained why she couldn't take Sky with her on the trip, adding: "And yes I know some of you will think just take him with you... But its too much flying and time difference for such a short trip. I would have him in my pocket at all times if I could.
Not literally. I don't have a pocket big enough." She then said she wasn't necessarily looking for advice but needed some support and reassurance about leaving her baby son, before posting a selfie of tears falling down her cheek. Jessie's emotional post comes after she announced she'd left her record label, Republic Records, after 17 years, in a statement shared to Instagram.
The singer branded the decision a "rollercoaster" as she looks to the future.
The mum-of-one explained that she is determined to continue releasing music, but wants to do it on "her own terms".
