EXCLUSIVE: Jess Biddle has joined Molly Sims’ multimedia company Something Happy Productions as Vice President of Film & Television, Deadline can exclusively reveal.
Biddle joins from Annapurna Pictures, where she most recently spent four and a half years as Director of Development. In her new role, she will oversee new development for Something Happy in film and television, while managing the production company’s existing slate, reporting directly to Sims.
Said Sims in a statement on the hiring, “Jess Biddle stepping into the role of vice president of Film & Television at Something Happy Productions is an incredible milestone for us, marking the beginning of an exciting new era. Her extensive experience and unwavering passion for storytelling bring a fresh energy to our team, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her join us on this journey. With Jess’s expertise in Film & TV development, I am confident that we will continue to break boundaries and craft content that deeply resonates with audiences globally, amplifying the voices of women and leaving a meaningful mark on the industry.”

During her time at Annapurna, Biddle oversaw the production of high-profile films including Booksmart, Vice, and most recently, Marielle Heller’s forthcoming Nightbitch starring Amy Adams. Prior to that, she held positions at Chernin Entertainment, contributing to Fox’s Hidden Figures, and worked in the Literary Rights department at Paradigm.
