The TV presenter, 39, previously opened up about her intense romance with Kelly Smith, 45, when she launched her book, How (Not) To Be Strong in 2022.
According to the Daily Mirror, both women were battling personal issues at the time the time of their relationship which unfolded during Alex's early playing days. During her book launch, Alex confessed that she almost left out the chapter about her first love, but ultimately felt it would be dishonest to omit such a significant part of her life.
With her mother in the audience, Alex expressed: "I went back and forth on whether I'd actually be writing the chapter. But then it was one of those moments, I'm writing this book and I want to tell everything." She continued: "I thought I'd be cheating you all if I didn't put that in there.
And for me, it's like that first love story, I fell madly and deeply in love. And yes, there's that heartbreak and those things, but it's a huge part of my life and I wouldn't go back and change that." Alex added, emphasizing the importance of including her experience in the memoir: "Because that feeling of love and that excitement and what it gives you, it needed to be in there.", reports the Daily Record.
