Jeremy Renner’s Nephew Details Snow Plow Accident in Body Cam Footage: ‘It Started Coming at Me, Full Force’

Ethan Shanfeld Jeremy Renner’s nephew recounts the “Avengers” star’s horrific snow plow accident in new body camera footage released by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Dept. On Jan. 1, Renner was run over by his Sno-Cat, a large snow plow that weighs at least 14,330 pounds, as he attempted to help his 27-year-old nephew, Alex Fries, free a pickup truck lodged in the snow. When Renner exited his Sno-Cat to check on Fries, the vehicle kept moving. The actor was stuck under the plow’s tread as he tried to stop it from hitting Fries. In the footage, obtained by ABC News, Fries is heard telling law enforcement, “He got out to tell me something, and then that’s when it started coming at me, full force.”

The Accidental Importance of Jeremy Renner’s ‘Rennervations’: TV Review

Alison Herman “Considering all the injuries I have, I’m just glad I can still do what I’m good at.” This line is not spoken by Jeremy Renner, but it’s still the sentiment that hangs over “Rennervations,” the four-part docuseries streaming this Wednesday on Disney+. After a Jan. 1 snow plow accident outside his Reno, Nevada home left Renner with life-threatening injuries, the show’s Tuesday premiere will mark his first public, in-person appearance since. (Renner also sat down for an interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer, which aired earlier this week.) “Rennervations” is designed to be a feel-good show, following the actor as he restores retired vehicles for use by youth-focused charities. But offscreen events have conspired to give its predictable triumphs — assignment, engineering, execution, delivery — an added dimension.
