Jeremy Clarkson has been left feeling 'unbelievably sad' as he shares the 'catastrophic' loss he experienced at his renowned farm. Despite the loss, he is also looking towards his next project.
The ex-Top Gear host, 63, has spoken out about the heartbreaking event and the numerous challenges he's encountered over the past few years. Jeremy is currently gearing up for the third instalment of Clarkson's Farm, which airs on Amazon Prime.
The show follows his adventures as a broadcaster-turned-farmer on Diddly Squat Farm in Chipping Norton. Since venturing into farming, Jeremy has received support from individuals including Kaleb Cooper and Charlie and Gerald Cooper.
However, life on the farm isn't always easy, as he recently disclosed that several things have "gone wrong" in the past few months according to reports in the Mirror.
The death of a litter of piglets under difficult conditions left Jeremy particularly devastated, as he had been keen to shift his focus to pig farming instead of dairy.
"A cow has one calf, whereas the last bout of births we had, one of our pigs had fourteen piglets," he shared with The Times. The Doncaster-born personality remarked: "That's a lot of money. I reckoned the pigs would provide something that's sadly lacking in farming today: a bit of genuine happiness."
He added: "It was almost unbelievably sad, we had a catastrophically high level of deaths."
The piglets were sadly accidentally crushed by their mothers, while some died of natural causes in infancy. Despite the setback, Jeremy Clarkson is reportedly eyeing up a new project as he's rumoured to be in discussions to purchase a village pub located opposite his Cotswolds brewery.
