Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic The question is no longer just what Bob Dylan will have to say about Elvis Costello’s “Pump It Up” or the Clash’s “London Calling” when he writes about them in his new book, “The Philosophy of Modern Song.” Now we can wonder how Helen Mirren or Renée Zellweger will sound giving voice to Dylan’s prose as they read those chapters, respectively, in the audiobook version, which, like the hardback, arrives Nov. 1. Variety previously reported the titles of the historical songs Dylan has written essays about for the tome, followed by the the names of the actors enlisted to read individual chapters for the audiobook, but those two lists hadn’t been paired up till now. A look at the list below, being revealed for the first time today, shows that all of the stars involved have been given multiple assignments, including Jeff Bridges, Oscar Isaac, Rita Moreno, Jeffrey Wright, Sissy Spacek, John Goodman, Alfre Woodard and Steve Buscemi as well as Mirren and Zellweger.

Jeff Bridges has played many iconic characters throughout his long career, but he told Fox News Digital he is most often recognized for playing "The Dude" in "The Big Lebowski." Not only is his character popular, the movie is so beloved it even spawned a religion with loyal followers, known as Dudeism. Bridges finds it amusing that when the movie was first released, it was not well received and took quite a while to gain traction. Over time though, it really took off, inspiring festivals like Lebowski Fest.
"When you get a great story, and you get a great director and a great cinematographer, the acting is decent, it all kind of comes together," he said. "That's one of the few films that I see on TV I say, I'll just watch a couple of scenes, and then I end up watching the whole damn thing." Bridges said he was initially scared to sign on for a TV show, mostly because of the stigma once attached to television actors. However, after seeing who else had signed on to the show, he was convinced. "I was concerned about doing some TV because there was sort of a stigma to it.
Back in the early days of my career, my father, Lloyd Bridges, had done many, many series. And I saw how hard he worked at bringing the quality to it and that the quality was often compromised because it was much faster schedule," he explained. "When I saw these high quality shows on TV now I said, 'hey, I've got to, you know, experiment with this and see what that's like,'

Jem Aswad Senior Music Editor What a long, strange trip the long-lost Creedence Clearwater Revival Royal Albert Hall concert album and film has taken in the half century since it happened. The show and the on-the-road footage were recorded by the BBC during the group’s first European tour in April of 1970, but never broadcast. The recording presumably got hung up in the notorious legal battles between the group and its original label, Fantasy Records, although footage from the concert popped up at various times over the decades (even in a TV commercial for a budget Creedence greatest-hits album in the ‘80s). Even more confusingly, Fantasy released a very similar live album titled “The Royal Albert Hall Concert” before realizing that the tapes had been mistakenly labeled and the album was actually recorded ten weeks earlier and 5,000 miles away at the band’s triumphant Oakland Coliseum homecoming concert (the album was quickly retitled “The Concert”).
