Jeff Brazier revealed his pride as he congratulated his son, Bobby, after the young EastEnders star joined the Strictly Come Dancing line-up.
The 20-year-old actor, who plays Freddie Slater in the BBC One soap, has joined a slew of celebrities taking part in the ballroom dancing competition. Bobby is the oldest son of TV star Jeff and the late Big Brother star Jade Goody.
Taking to Instagram to share the news, Jeff reposted Strictly's social media post and wrote: "Go on the boy," followed by a red heart emoji. Jeff's wife, Kate, also reacted to the news and wrote on her Stories: "Proud of you @bobbybrazier."
Announcing the news, Bobby said: "I’m so excited to be part of the Strictly line up, I can’t wait to start training like a professional dancer and adding a few moves to my locker. I'm looking forward to performing in-front of everyone, it's going to be so much fun!"
Appearing live from the EastEnders set on Wednesday morning during BBC Breakfast, Bobby added: "I'm good, I'm excited, I've never done live [TV] before, so I'm a little bit nervous but I'm happy!" He added: "I love to dance, to perform live will be scary I think, daunting, but exciting."
Bobby is an experienced actor and model, but this will be his first stint on reality TV, unlike his parents. Jeff and Jade, who passed away back in 2009, appeared on Big Brother, Celebrity Wife Swap, Simply the Best, and Dancing on Ice.
Bobby opened up about his parents in an interview with The Times earlier this year, revealing that although he doesn't remember "a whole lot" about his mother, who died of cervical cancer aged 27, he is thankful "for giving me your amazing personality and your beautiful face."
