Jamie Oliver's wife, Jools, 49, has announced a big career change after feeling she received 'wrong guidance' at school. Jools has always been open about her and Jamie's desire to grow their family.
Now, instead of having another child herself, she's decided to help others expand their families. Jools, who tied the knot with the famous chef in 2000, shared that she was inspired to start a midwifery course two years ago and hasn't looked back since.
Even though the course should have only taken a year, Jools is still studying, which she says is "typical" for her. Despite her successful careers as a writer and model, Jools confesses that being a midwife is her dream job.
On a recent podcast, the Mirror reports she shared: "Everyone said, "'There's still time, this is the time you do it'. It's been two years now, it should have been done in a year, this is very me.
"Ideally, I'd like to hold newborn babies left, right and centre. It's the dream job, catching newborn babies."
She further explained on the Postcards From Midlife podcast: "I didn't really have much guidance. I wish I'd just gone straight to college and been a midwife. That would hands down be the job I'd be still doing now and I think I'd probably have been quite good at it. "
Jools and Jamie have always made it known that they'd love to welcome a sixth bub to their happy brood. Jools' path to mumhood wasn't a smooth sail; she only managed to conceive their first child, Poppy, in 2001 after successful IVF treatment when she was in her mid-20s.
