Katie Reul editor The action-packed final season of “His Dark Materials” will debut its first two episodes in a back-to-back broadcast on HBO Dec. 5, according to a teaser that premiered at New York Comic-Con. Season 3 will also be available for streaming on HBO Max. James McAvoy is making a significant resurgence in the series as Lord Asriel, who was absent from the screen for the majority of Season 2. The upcoming season largely focuses on Asriel rallying military forces to launch a holy crusade against the “Authority” — an antagonistic spiritual force that dictates his universe. “I’m gathering the greatest from every world to help me wage war,” Asriel reveals in the trailer.

Fox Entertainment chief executive officer Charlie Collier is exiting the company and heading to Roku next month.Collier joins Roku as president, Roku Media. Nick Vivarelli International Correspondent The 17th annual Rome Film Festival will fete James Ivory with a career honor, a mini retrospective and the Italian launch of the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s personal new documentary “A Cooler Climate.” Ivory is expected in Rome to receive the award and present the doc about his life as a traveler that takes its cue from boxes of film the director shot during a life-changing trip to Afghanistan in 1960. The film premieres beforehand at the New York Film Festival. Rome’s Ivory mini-retrospective will comprise his films “Maurice”; “Mr. and Mrs. Bridge,” starring Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward; “The Remains of the Day”; and “A Room With a View.”

Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner glossed over New York Attorney General Letitia James’ announcement of a civil lawsuit against former President Donald Trump, calling it “inside baseball” and even potentially “political.”Fox News aired James’ description of the lawsuit for around eight minutes, in which she detailed that she and her office will sue Trump, his adult children and his real estate business for fraud stretching back years.As the attorney general’s remarks faded into the background, Faulkner summed up the situation very quickly before moving onto a discussion of “The View” and the criticism of Sunny Hostin by Nikki Haley.“So the New York State Attorney General has just announced a rather lengthy and detailed layout of the lawsuit that she is putting against Donald Trump former president,” she began.“Some of this is really inside baseball unless it’s your tax dollars in New York, and some people may even accuse it of being political because we’re 48 days away from the midterm elections, and both Presidents the current and the past are certainly being looked at to help candidates out,” Faulkner continued. “So we’ll see how this plays out.

James Cameron has detailed clashes he had with studio bosses ahead of the original Avatar‘s release.Ahead of the release of the long-awaited sequel Avatar: The Way Of Water later this year, the director claimed that executives wanted the 2009 blockbuster to be shorter, and wanted to cut down on characters flying around.“Well, it turns out that’s what the audience loved the most, in terms of our exit polling and data gathering,” Cameron told The New York Times.“And that’s a place where I just drew a line in the sand and said, ‘You know what? I made Titanic. This building that we’re meeting in right now, this new half-billion dollar complex on your lot? Titanic paid for that, so I get to do this.’”The director went on to claim that the studio later “thanked” him for standing his ground, and said that Avatar is “still competitive with everything that’s out there these days”.“I feel that my job is to protect their investment, often against their own judgment,” he continued.
