EXCLUSIVE: Jaime Camil (Schmigadoon!) has joined the cast of Apple’s Acapulco for Season 3. Production on the 10-episode new season is currently underway.
Camil will guest star as Alejandro, the brother of one of the wealthiest men in Mexico and a new co-owner of Las Colinas who makes his co-owner Diane Davies’ (Jessica Collins) life miserable at the hotel.
From Lionsgate TV, 3Pas Studios, Zihuatanejo Productions and The Tannenbaum Company, in Season 3 of Acapulco, it’s time to reconcile past mistakes and exciting new beginnings. In the present story, older Maximo (Eugenio Derbez) finds himself returning to a Las Colinas he no longer recognizes. While in 1985, younger Maximo (Enrique Arrizon) continues his climb up the ladder of success while potentially jeopardizing all the relationships he’s worked so hard to build.
The cast also includes Fernando Carsa (as Memo), Damián Alcázar (Don Pablo), Camila Perez (Julia), Chord Overstreet (Chad), Vanessa Bauche (Nora), Regina Reynoso (Sara), Raphael Alejandro (Hugo), Jessica Collins (Diane), Rafael Cebrián (Hector), Carlos Corona (Esteban) and Regina Orozco (Lupe). Sam Laybourne serves as showrunner.
Acapulco is inspired by 3Pas Studios and Lionsgate/Pantelion Films’ box office hit How to Be A Latin Lover. Austin Winsberg, Eduardo Cisneros and Jason Shuman created the series.
Executive producers include Winsberg and director Jay Karas; Derbez and Ben Odell for 3Pas Studios; Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, as well as Jason Wang on behalf of The Tannenbaum Company. Sonia Almanza Gambaro co-executive produces for 3Pas Studios.

William Earl One of Apple TV+’s biggest shows has been renewed early. “The Morning Show,” the newsroom drama starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, has received an early renewal for Season 4 on the streamer. Meanwhile, Season 3 is set to debut this fall. Witherspoon and Aniston are executive producers, with Mimi Leder directing and executive producing, and Charlotte Stoudt acting as showrunner and executive producer for Season 3. “The Morning Show” is produced by the Media Res, Hello Sunshine and Echo Films. Season 3 will introduce new cast members Jon Hamm and Nicole Beharie, as well as the return of stars such as Julianna Margulies, Tig Notaro, Stephen Fry and Natalie Morales.

Throughout the first season, the group of friends began as just mere car enthusiasts and slowly turned into a legitimate car club. In Season 2, Hart and his crew open their own car restoration garage in Atlanta. The new car aficionados begin to learn even more about car culture as they work together to open and operate their own brick and mortar location.

BreAnna Bell ABC’s “The Rookie” will be returning for a sixth season where it’s expected to hit its 100th episode milestone, the network announced on Monday. The procedural follows John Nolan (Nathan Fillion), the oldest rookie in the LAPD, who uses his life experience, determination and sense of humor to keep up with rookies 20 years his junior. Nearing the end of his training, Nolan now faces his biggest challenge as a police officer when he must come to terms with the choices he has made in pursuit of the truth. Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O’Neil, Eric Winter, and Jenna Dewan join Fillion among the cast. In the next episode, which airs April 18, Officer Tim Bradford’s (Winter) ex-wife, Isabel, returns and asks the team to help her save someone from her undercover past. Her return also creates additional pressure in Lucy (O’Neil) and Tim’s relationship as they assist her in the search. “The Rookie” Season 5 finale will arrive on Tuesday, May 2.

Leo Barraclough International Features Editor Season 6 of Canadian cop show “Hudson & Rex,” one of the world’s most successful television brands, has been given the greenlight. The new season has been added to the sales slate of Beta Film at next week’s MipTV television conference and market in Cannes. The canine star of the police procedural, German Shepherd Diesel, who plays Rex, will walk the pink carpet on Sunday at TV series festival Canneseries, which runs in parallel with MipTV. He will be joined by John Reardon, who plays detective Charlie Hudson. The crime fighting duo are presenting the French premiere of the first episode of Season 4, followed by a Q&A with the talent.
