This Morning had an awkward moment on Monday's show as host Dermot O'Leary broke an expensive vase live on the programme. Guest Vanessa appeared to talk about the rare item.
Alison Hammond and co-host Dermot welcomed Vanessa onto the show where she explained she had bought the vase for £1.50 at a car boot sale which was later valued at £30,000 on Antiques Roadshow.
When Vanessa further explained there was only two of the rare vase in the world, Alison was left stunned. The show's regular pawnbroker Dan Hatfield also appeared on set for what was in fact a 'prank' as he said he wanted to inspect the item himself.
Whilst Dan was speaking, Alison was forced to keep pulling Dermot away from the item reminding him to not get too close according to reports in OK! before he swivelled and knocked the vase off its plinth.
Alison rushed over to Vanessa who screamed out in horror as pieces of the invaluable item scattered across the floor. "Oh my god, I'm so- are you actually joking D? I'm so sorry. I don't even know what to say. I'm actually going to get upset, I'm so so sorry," Alison panicked.
Not letting on the whole situation was fake, Dermot profusely apologised as he told the woman he'd pay for the damage. As Vanessa put on the water works, Dermot added: "I'm so sorry, I'll pay for it, I'm so sorry everybody. I've only got one thing say which is April Fools! Welcome back Alison."
