The Chase fans were left stunned after 'recognising' one contestant on the ITV show. A fresh foursome were welcomed onto the hit show by host Bradley Walsh as they looked to take on one of the Chasers.
The episode, which aired on 20 February, saw sustainability consultant Nigel, 62, translator Anna, 34, nurse Viji, 45, and machine operator Mel, 53, take on The Chase.
The team were up against Paul Sinha, known as The Sinnerman. Nigel instantly impressed his teammates, answering five questions correctly during his cash-builder segment.
He took back £5,000 to the team, having accepted Paul's middle offer. However, it wasn't Nigel's knowledge that caught TV viewers' attention. Many fans of The Chase were quick to notice how similar the 62 year old looked to Hollywood star Sir Anthony Hopkins, 86.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, dozens of viewers shared their surprise at Nigel's likeliness to the actor. One person penned: "Anthony Hopkins in seat one." "Anyone else think he looks like Sir Anthony Hopkins??" a second fan asked. A third added: "The guy on tonight looks like Anthony Hopkins #thechase." Another fan stated: "Seat 1" alongside a gif of Anthony.
On the show, Nigel opened up about what he'd spend the prize money on, admitting he and his wife had different ideas about what to splash the cash on. He told host Bradley: "If it was up to me, I'd buy a classic car but my wife would want me to spend it on our 30th wedding anniversary, which is later this year."
