Maya Jama has officially been announced as the new host of Love Island. The presenter had been rumoured to have accepted to the coveted role on the ITV2 dating show after Laura Whitmore quit following the latest series in the summer.
The hit dating show will return for its 9th series in early 2023 with a second-eve winter series before the return of the much-loved summer run later in the year.
Returning to South Africa for the first of two series next year, lovestruck singletons will be guided through the twists and turns of coupling up in the iconic Villa surroundings by the brand-new host.

Maya, 28, said of her new gig: "I've always been such a massive Love Island fan and I’m so excited to be hosting one of the nation’s favourite shows! I can’t wait to get into the Villa to meet all of the Islanders."
The programme's official Instagram account posted a short video of Maya scrolling through headlines speculating she was the new presenter. Love Island's famous theme music played in the background as the host then playfully sipped from a water bottle. The caption read: "Okay, the rumours are true [winking face emoji] Say hey to your brand-new #LoveIsland host."
