Ranvir Singh is replacing Kate Garraway on Good Morning Britain while her husband Derek Draper is fighting for his life in hospital.
Speaking to viewers on ITV's Lorraine yesterday, Ranvir revealed she would be covering for the presenter on Thursday morning's show.
She said: "I'm getting up a bit earlier tomorrow because I'll be bringing you Good Morning Britain. Louise Minchin will be in the hotseat here. She'll be joined on the safe here by Meera Syal."
Kate, 56, has been forced to cancel all upcoming TV and radio work to be by her husband Derek's side after he suffered a heart attack, the Mirror reports.
The former lobbyist, who has been in and out of hospital since returning home in 2021, became seriously ill a week ago with his friends and family rushing to be at his bedside.
A source at the time said: "Everyone is praying for a miracle. Derek suffered a massive heart attack earlier this week which has left him fighting for his life all over again."
The former political advisor fell ill with Covid-19 in early 2020 and was left hospitalised in a critically ill condition for more than a year.
Since then, Kate has supported her spouse and used her platform to raise awareness of those still suffering after contracting the viral disease.
Sources claim the daytime presenter is hoping that Derek will be well enough to spend Christmas at home with her and their two kids Darcey, 15, and 11-year-old Billy.
A source close to the couple said: "Derek suffered a massive heart attack which has left him fighting for his life all over again."
