Diane Youdale Gilbert, who was known as 'Jet' on Gladiators over three decades ago remains a favourite among fans of the original show. Diane, who is now 54, took part in four series of the ITV programme from 1992 to 1995.

But thanks to her background in gymnastics, Diane had "multi-functional skills" like Kim Betts, also 52, who played 'Lightning'. Diane noted: "Even though we came in at the smaller end of the original females, we were good all-rounders."
She shared: "We'd both been gymnasts to a very high level as youngsters and the Gladiator arena was basically a gymnasts playground. I felt more sorry for those that came from say a bodybuilding background because they didn't quite have the dexterity to adapt easily to all of the events."
Diane admitted she didn't like being famous, explaining: "I didn't enjoy that process". She also mentioned she sometimes tried to avoid being recognised in public, saying she "wasn't comfortable" with people thinking they knew
