ITV Emmerdale's Marlon Dingle faces health shock as he suffers stroke

Marlon Dingle will face a health shock in Emmerdale next week when he suffers a stroke.
The character, played by Mark Charnock, has been through his fair share of trials and tribulations since first arriving in the Dales in 1996.
But Marlon is set for one of his biggest challenges yet as he faces a serious health battle when he has a life-threatening stroke in heartbreaking episodes airing next week on ITV.

In the hope of raising awareness of the warning signs that come before a stroke, the ITV soap will focus upon Marlon and tell the story from his character's perspective.
The episodes have been produced with the support of the charity, the Stroke Association, who have worked closely with Emmerdale’s scriptwriters, story, research, and production teams from the conception of the storyline to give a realistic and authentic depiction of Marlon's journey.
In the coming months, scenes will explore how Marlon and his family, friends, and loved ones will come to terms with the diagnosis and how it will impact their future and the wider community.
This isn't Marlon's first health scare. In March 2020 the chef suffered a heart attack after being released from prison.
It came after he was finally found innocent in the murder of Graham Foster, with Rona Goskirk's ex Pierce Harris eventually being found guilty.
Speaking about his upcoming storyline Mark, who celebrated 27 years in Emmerdale at the end of last year, Mark said: "Working with Emmerdale‘s research team and the Stroke Association on this storyline has been a total eye-opener for me.
