As an act of goodwill, Peter and wife Carla headed to the hospital to give Mr Thorne a bottle of whisky for performing his life-saving surgery. But as he arrived at Weatherfield General, Aggie Bailey had some shocking news to share. Last week, the nurse overheard Mr Thorne gloating to a colleague how he rushed Peter's operation in order to win a bet.
She later discovered that all Mr Thorne's operations have been cancelled until further notice and when Peter arrived at the hospital, she broke the news to him and Carla about what she had discovered. Understandably, Peter was furious and demanded an explanation and an apology.

But with Aggie unable to help, she offered to get a manager to explain what was happening. And it only got worse for Peter as he was told that Mr Thorne had taken a selfie with his old liver in the operating theatre which he then shared with a colleague in a WhatsApp chat with the vile message 'anyone for foie gras?'
Corrie fans couldn't believe what they were hearing and Peter was beside himself with rage. Later, an angry Peter declared that he was going to put a stop to his abuse of power and later found Mr Thorne in a restaurant. He demanded an apology but the surgeon wound him up with his attitude.
