It’s official! Meryl Streep’s daughter Grace Gummer is engaged to Mark Ronson

EXCLUSIVE: Writer-producer-director Liz W. Garcia has signed an overall deal with Entertainment One. Under the multi-year pact, Garcia will develop television series for broadcast, cable, and streaming, including projects by and about women, people of color and members of the LGBTQIA community.

The Cannes Film Festival has unveiled the lineup for its 2021 Cannes Classics section. Made up of a selection of restored prints, the roster also includes new documentaries that explore the history of cinema. Among the offerings is Mark Cousins’ pre-opening doc, The Storms Of Jeremy Thomas, which covers a yearly drive with the British producer from London to Cannes. Rebecca Rubin Film and Media ReporterGina Rodriguez is teaming up with professional boxer Ryan Garcia to develop a sports drama about the athlete’s experiences as a Mexican American lightweight champion.Rodriguez, best known for The CW’s take on a telenovela “Jane the Virgin,” is directing, co-starring and producing the film.

Gina Rodriguez is stepping into the ring in what marks her directorial debut as Rodriguez, Ryan Garcia, One Community and Endeavor Content are teaming up to develop a feature film about a fictional character inspired by some of Garcia’s experiences in and around the sport as a Mexican-American boxer. Rodriguez will direct, star, produce and will co-write the screenplay with actor and playwright Bernardo Cubria.  Garcia will also star star.

Comedian and “Los Espookys” co-creator Ana Fabrega has joined the cast of Warner Bros. and Plan B’s “Father of the Bride” remake alongside star Andy Garcia, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.Fabrega joins a cast that includes Gloria Estefan, Adria Arjona, Isabela Merced, Diego Boneta, Enrique Murciano and Macarena Achaga.

Mónica Marie Zorrilla Jessica Ann Collins has been cast opposite Luke Evans and Michiel Huisman in the upcoming Apple action-thriller series “Echo 3,” reuniting Collins with Academy Award-winning producer and writer Mark Boal. Collins will play Amber Chesbourough, a brilliant young scientist who is described as the emotional center of a small American family.The 10-episode series is set in South America and follows Chesborough.

Peacock is developing the showbiz family drama “Fruits of They Labor” from Billy Porter and Greg Berlanti, the streamer announced Friday.The drama centers on three generations of an African-American showbiz dynasty navigating their way through life, love, politics and career.
